STERLING SILVER JEWELRY
LOST-WAX CASTING METHOD
Learn to make the silver jewelry (rings, pendants, etc.) by the lost-wax casting method, the method used to make all the jewelry you own. Roy will show you the art and science of this method. You will also learn the elements of alloying metals, small-scale casting technology and the creative process. Make a sterling silver object of your own design. You’ll have fun and learn lots! Pay instructor about $10 supply fee. Limit 20 students ages 16 and older. Bring a small notebook to first class.

ORIENTAL COTTON PAPER ART
Do you want to explore Oriental art? Come be among the first in this area to learn this craft. Use special paper and technique without cutting or painting. Use to embellish a poster, bookmark, greeting card or as a unique wall hanging. The following six classes each offer a different picture. Take one or all six. Please note: Classes 302-305are for beginners—classes 306, 307 are for the intermediate student. The first four projects would be beautiful framed together. You must take at least one beginning class to learn the basics before moving on to the intermediate ones. No art background needed—just bring your interest. GLASS BEADMAKING
Have you seen the beautiful beads made by glass artists? Would you like to try making some yourself? Take this bead making course taught by Roy Bunnell, who, despite having a degree in Ceramic Engineering can make nice beads. Equipment limits class to six, so register early. PAINTING WITH OILS/ACRYLICS

READY, SET, DRAW!
Does your kindergartner outdraw you? Is the only pencil you know the one you write with? Are stick figures your claim to fame? This class will introduce drawing basics. You’ll become familiar with graphite pencils, charcoal, erasers, blenders and paper choices. Techniques in sketching, shading and textures will be practiced. You will learn to draw what you see and not what you think you see, bringing depth and realism to your drawing. This course is non-comparative and non-competitive. Leave your judgments behind and have some fun. Supply list on page 18.

BEGINNING KNITTING
Gail loves to knit and looks forward to teaching you! Learn the importance of gauge, knit, purl, relaxation and having fun with a project you can finish. POLYMER JEWELRY
Let’s get creative! Beginners and intermediate students welcome. We will make charms and memory bracelets, necklaces, pins and earrings. We’ll start by making our own beads and charms out of Sculpey (Polymer clay). We will also incorporate traditional glass beads, plastic beads, interesting papers and stamping in our projects. SEAT WEAVING (CANING)
Learn how to cane a chair seat in just seven steps. Patience and creativity are the only skills required to learn the traditional and functional craft of chair caning. Find an old chair or purchase a complete kit at the first class. If you want to learn how but don’t need a chair or stool to keep, the instructor has chairs in need of seats for your practice. If time and interest allow, additional seat weaving techniques will be demonstrated. Supply fee (based on individual student needs – maximum $30).
